The largest LEGO model EVER was revealed in Times Square today. This massively awesome model is made of 5,335,200 bricks and took 32 designers 17,000 hours to build! It’s out of this world!
This morning in NYC’s Times Square, The LEGO Group unveiled the world’s largest LEGO model ever assembled. Created to celebrate the upcoming premiere of The Yoda Chronicles on Cartoon Network on Wednesday, May 29, the massive Star Wars-themed replica weighs nearly 46,000 pounds and took 32 master builders, five million LEGO bricks and over 17,000 hours to complete.
Our friend and AFi reader GregNYC was on hand to take these pictures and video for us!
After the unveiling, the model will remain in Times Square as an interactive exhibit through Saturday, May 25th. After leaving Times Square, the model will “take off” for a summer landing at the LEGOLAND® California Resort outside San Diego for guests to visit through the remainder of the year.
Thanks to Greg (and Lego) for the images and video!
