Microsoft has announced that its Xbox 360 console has achieved sales of 67 million units in its lifetime.
Posting on the official Microsoft blog, chief marketing officer of Microsoft's Interactive Entertainment Division, Yusuf Mehdi revealed the Xbox 360 has generated more than $56 billion at retail since the console was launched in 2005.
According to the publisher, the 360 accounts for a 47 percent share of the current-generation console market. Microsoft also revealed that Kinect for Xbox 360 has sold 19 million units, to date, while Xbox Live has hit 40 million subscribers. According to Mehdi, Xbox Live subscribers now spend an average of 84 hours per month on the console.
