Upcoming time-bending Xbox One exclusive action game Quantum Break will be one of the titles featured in Microsoft's Gamescom briefing on Tuesday. And now the company has teased that it may announce the 2016 game's official release date during the show. Asked by a fan on Twitter if Microsoft will announce a "firm" release date for Quantum Break during the show, Spencer said, "You'll see on Tuesday. I think you'll be happy." Quantum Break, in development at Finnish studio Remedy Entertainment, was originally scheduled to launch in 2015. But in April, Microsoft announced that it was shifting the game to 2016. Microsoft head of publishing Shannon Loftis said at the time that the company already has the "strongest games lineup in Xbox history" for this year with games like Halo 5: Guardians, Rise of the Tomb Raider, Fable Legends, Forza Motorsport 6, and Gears of War: Ultimate Edition. “With so many games launching this year, moving Quantum Break to 2016 extends our incredible portfolio into next year with a monster new IP," Loftis explained at the time. Quantum Break is not just a game alone, as it will be accompanied by a live-action TV show. This remains in development despite the closure of Xbox Entertainment Studios last year. Remedy has previously described Quantum Break as the "ultimate Remedy game." The studio also created the Max Payne and Alan Wake franchises. Microsoft's Gamescom briefing is slated for August 5, starting at 7 AM PDT / 10 AM EDT.
